Art

As a fiber artist and maker,

I make my own sweaters, blankets, and shawls. In addition to my knitting and crochet projects, I also delight in combining mixed materials into layered quilts and paper piecing projects. Whenever I work on a project, my hands dance — moving thread and needle or paper and scissors. The motions are a joining together that fills my quiet moments with a comfortable warmth.

My art is an expression of connection and love. It is a gift that passes through my hands in a plea for reciprocity in a world where all anyone seems to want is instant gratification. Regardless of the physical materials used, my projects are made of wedding vows and sunlit mornings, flashes of insight, and the tiny moments that everyone forgets. They are made of the magic that fills the air when two people really see one another. They are made of the gifts I have been given. They express the gratitude I can hardly make space to feel all at once inside myself, so I channel it through my fingers one stitch at a time and give the moments back in return — it’s my way of acknowledging and valuing the gifts that come my way.

There are some samples of my work here, but you can also check out my ravelry page to see what I've been making recently.
