Putting Feminist Logic Into Practice

A sketch of several hands raised in the air. Three of them hold blocks with logic symbols.

Current dissertation project at the University of Minnesota.

As the nascent subfield of feminist logic takes shape, with scholars re-exploring the history of logic, re-working the flexibility and application of logical tools, and re-envisioning the logic classroom and other spaces of outreach, the established methodologies of logical practice need to be re-examined and re-imagined for a feminist context. This project undertakes that task.

Through an initial investigation of four key questions, I will develop an accessible and practical methodology for feminist logic that is responsive to both existing practice and feminist aims.

Chapter 1: What was logic designed to do?

Chapter 2: What is the purpose of feminist logic?

Chapter 3: What do logicians currently do?

Chapter 4: How can we put feminist logic into action?
